If your baggage has not arrived, has been damaged or if there is shortage of its contents

Without leaving the baggage claim area, you need to submit an application on baggage irregularity (loss/damage/shortage of a part of the contents). At the Lost & Found counter, upon presentation of your traffic documents (boarding card, baggage tag) and identity document, you will be issued a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

Unless the above conditions are met, a decision on acceptance of the application for irregularity shall be made by the airline carrier.

Deadlines for filing a claim with the airline:

• domestic air transportation — within 6 months (in the event of delay in baggage delivery/loss/damage);
• international air transportation:
  • in the event of baggage shortage or damage — within 7 days from the date of receiving the baggage;
  • in the event of delay in baggage delivery— within 21 days from the date of receiving the baggage by a passenger;
  • in the event of baggage loss — within 18 months.

Rules for Delivery of Unclaimed, Removed Baggage, and Found Items

1. The storage period for personal belongings found on board the aircraft or on the territory of Vnukovo Airport terminal is 6 months from the date of their receipt for storage in the unclaimed baggage room.
2. The storage period for unclaimed baggage is 6 months from the date of receipt for storage in the unclaimed baggage room. Unclaimed baggage is stored free of charge for 2 days, including the day it is accepted in the airport’s unclaimed baggage room. *Incomplete days are still charged as a full day.
3. A fee shall be charged for personal belongings of the passengers left on board the aircraft or on the territory of Vnukovo Airport terminal from the first day of storage, including the day of their receipt in the unclaimed baggage room of the airport. *Incomplete days are still charged as a full day.
4. Removed baggage of passengers suspended from the flight for various reasons shall be stored in the unclaimed baggage room of domestic airlines free of charge for 2 hours, then a fee shall be charged as per the tariff established by the company.
5. Payment for delivery of unclaimed, removed baggage and found items is made at the ticket office of Vnukovo International Airport.
6. If during the search period the contents of the baggage have spoiled upon expiry of a certain period of storage or under unfavorable environmental impact, the airport employees may immediately destroy all or part of the perishable baggage.
7. Baggage and lost and found items not claimed by the owner are subject to destruction upon expiration of the established period.
