Vnukovo International Airport held a ceremony to present awards to its employees and the Vnukovo JetSet Award to partner airlines. Representatives of the management of the aviation industry, federal and city authorities, as well as leaders of the aviation market attended the event.
Airport employees from various departments have been awarded with «Excellent Air Transport Worker» badges, letters of commendation and other awards for many years of conscientious labour and professionalism.
Vnukovo Airport in 2024 secured the third place in Russia (and the second place in the Moscow aviation hub) in terms of total passenger traffic, the second place in terms of international traffic and the first place in terms of passenger traffic of foreign airlines, having served more than 16 million passengers. The 11 per cent growth in passenger traffic was almost double the industry average. This success is possible thanks to the well-coordinated work of all departments of Vnukovo Airport Complex, as well as its partners.
Dmitry Erzakovich, General Director of Vnukovo International Airport JSC, emphasised: «We pay tribute to those who make an invaluable contribution to the development of air transport and the maintenance of reliable communication between cities and countries — our partners, domestic and foreign airlines. In today’s challenging and uncertain world, cooperation and partnership are especially important. We all know that it is only by working together that we can move forward.
As part of the event, the Vnukovo JetSet awards ceremony was held to honour airlines in various categories. Leaders of the air transport market were honoured for their outstanding performance, sustainable development, increased passenger traffic growth at Vnukovo International Airport and their contribution to the development of the route network.
Vnukovo International Airport is one of the largest air transportation hubs in Russia, handling about 200 thousand flights of Russian and foreign carriers every year. The airport’s route network covers the entire territory of Russia, as well as countries around the world. In 2019, Vnukovo International Airport broke a historical record and served more than 24 million passengers. The airport complex with a total area of about 300 thousand square meters has a capacity of up to 35 million passengers per year. Vnukovo International Airport, as the only one among the airports in Russia, has received the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for work achievements and high results in professional activities. In addition, Vnukovo Airport has been recognized as the best airport in the highest category «International Airport» of the national award «Air Gates of Russia» (part of the National Aviation Infrastructure Show, NAIS) for three years in a row.
