Vnukovo International Airport has introduced the possibility of using electronic boarding passes for both domestic and international flights. The new service is available thanks to an electronic database and specialised equipment for scanning barcodes from the screens of mobile devices. Electronic boarding passes reduce the time spent on pre-flight procedures, cut queues at check-in counters and minimise boarding time.
An electronic boarding pass is no different from a regular paper one. It contains:
— ticket number,
— passenger information,
— departure airport,
— airport of arrival,
— flight number,
— date and time of departure and arrival,
— information about the fare and additional services.
An electronic boarding pass is issued to the passenger during online check-in. A PDF document will be sent to the e-mail address provided. It should be saved on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
Vnukovo Airport has all the necessary equipment for scanning electronic boarding passes. To use it, you need to hold in front of the scanner the screen of your smartphone (or any mobile device with your boarding pass) so the equipment can read the barcode.
The electronic boarding pass should be presented on the screen of your mobile device:
— when passing through pre-flight checkpoint,
— when passing through passport control,
— at the boarding gate,
— to flight attendants when boarding the aircraft (upon request).
If for some reason you do not have access to an electronic boarding pass at the airport, you can print out a paper version of your boarding pass at the check-in counter or using special machines located in the terminal building.
Please note that paper boarding passes are not cancelled. If you are comfortable with this format, you are welcome to use this format.
